Condensed Daily Itnerary
Day 1 All Aboard!
Guests leave Chicago this afternoon for Glacier National Park, Montana aboard the ‘Empire Builder’ train in coach accommodations. Guests living on the West Coast depart Portland, OR or Seattle, WA this afternoon for Glacier Park aboard the eastbound ‘Empire Builder’. From either departure point, it's an overnight trip to Glacier Park over the Burlington Northern Railroad Route.
Day 2 Overnight Whitefish
Arrive in Whitefish, Montana aboard the ‘Empire Builder’ for an overnight stay at Grouse Mountain Lodge in this gateway to Glacier National Park with transfer included.
Day 3 Overnight Whitefish
We depart this morning aboard one of the famed red open-air ‘jammer’ buses for the stunning trip over the famed Going to the Sun Highway across the Continental Divide. Later today, shimmering Lake McDonald where a boat cruise is enjoyed. Many of our passengers rate this the prettiest day of the entire tour and you will soon see why. Overnight at Grouse Mountain Lodge. (B, D)
Day 4 Overnight Lake Louise
After a hearty breakfast we travel north to the Canadian Rockies over scenic Highway 93, stopping in Radium Hot Springs en route. We arrive at stunning Lake Louise this afternoon and begin our two-night stay at the superb Deer Lodge, a five minute walk from glorious Lake Louise. Tonight is at leisure to take in this magical setting. (B, L)
Day 5 Overnight Lake Louise
Today is a visual feast as we travel up the famed Icefields Parkway, past dozens of glaciers, waterfalls and lakes to the Columbia Icefield where we enjoy a Snocoach ride atop Athabasca Glacier, a spectacle that must be seen to be believed. Returning to Lake Louise this afternoon, the balance of the evening is free except for a casual reception tonight before dinner. (B, R)
Day 6 Overnight Banff
The day starts with breakfast at legendary Chateau Lake Louise, overlooking the Lake, a lovely beginning to any day. We then drive east to Banff over the Trans-Canada Highway, stopping at Moraine Lake en route before a midday arrival in Banff where the afternoon is free to enjoy Banff Village. Tonight is a welcome dinner at the Maple Leaf Restaurant, acclaimed for its cuisine and service. (B, D)
Day 7 Overnight Banff
A full day to enjoy Banff beginning with a gondola ride up Sulphur Mountain followed by a visit to the Banff Hot Springs which the town is famous for. The rest of the afternoon and evening is at leisure at the Banff Park Lodge in Banff. (B)
Day 8 Overnight Banff
This morning we travel east to pretty Lake Minnewanka for a cruise on this pristine alpine lake followed by a visit in Banff to the Cascade Gardens with its acres of manicured roses and vegetation. We have included a special treat today, the indulgent Afternoon Tea at the fabled Banff Springs Hotel with fresh scones and cream cakes. The balance of the evening is free to enjoy Banff as you like. Day 9 Overnight Banff
A final full day to enjoy Banff and we have intentionally left all day open for you to enjoy as you like. There is time today to golf, ride or hike or enjoy a spa treatment at any number of the downtown spas. Tonight is a special treat, our Farewell Dinner at Restaurant le Beaujolais, overlooking the Bow River, a favorite of the Royal Family.

A morning transfer brings us to the Calgary airport by 11am where easy connections can be made for all US points.(B)
