Our Canadian Sunset is a jewel of a trip featuring a rare four-night voyage through Upper Canada and scenic 1000 Islands aboard Canada's only riverboat, the 66-passenger Canadian Empress, at the height of autumn colors. Also included is scenic train travel, four nights in New York State's beautiful Finger Lakes region, fine hotels, daily sightseeing and much more, concluding with visits to historic Niagara on the Lake and Niagara Falls for visual splendor throughout.
Perhaps the greatest compliment we receive from guests on our hosted vacations is the ones that begin with “we hate the entire concept of tours but cannot wait to go with you again” since we have created all of these programs almost to be the ‘anti-tour’ from start to finish. There are no name tags nor forced introductions as in kindergarten. We do not have a series of one-night hotel stays that leaves one exhausted after ten days. We do not have early breakfast times nor crack of dawn departure times.
Most of our included meals allow guests to dine when they like, with whom they like, when they like. We leave large amounts of ‘free time’ in every program for guests to do as they like, whether it is a solitary hike or stroll around town, shopping, golfing, riding or simply relaxing with a book taking in the view of the Canadian Rockies or California Coast.
There are some travelers out there that require a degree of regimentation and forced interaction that seems most foreign to us. Happily, for most of our travelers, the format of these programs is hugely appreciated, with many travelers having been with us a dozen or more times.
